Dhikala Safari Zone in Jim Corbett National Park

The Dhikala Safari Zone in Jim Corbett National Park is one of the most popular and picturesque wildlife destinations in India. Located in the heart of the park, Dhikala is famous for its vast grasslands, dense Sal forests, and the meandering Ramganga River. This diverse ecosystem provides a perfect habitat for a wide range of wildlife, including the majestic Bengal tiger, elephants, leopards, sloth bears, and numerous species of birds. For wildlife enthusiasts and photographers, Dhikala offers an unforgettable experience to witness animals in their natural habitat.

Visitors can explore the Dhikala zone through Canter Safaris, which are open-air vehicles accommodating around 16 passengers. Safaris operate twice daily: a morning safari from 6:00 AM to 11:30 AM and an afternoon safari from 12:00 PM to 5:30 PM. The safari fare is approximately INR 2,500 per person for Indian nationals and INR 4,500 for foreign nationals. Advanced booking is essential, as slots fill up quickly, especially during the peak season from November to June. Reservations can be made through the official Corbett Tiger Reserve website or authorized booking agents.

To enter the Dhikala zone, all visitors must obtain a day permit that includes the safari fee. A government-approved photo ID (such as Aadhaar, Passport, Voter ID, or Driving License) is mandatory for verification at the park entry. The zone remains closed during the monsoon season (mid-June to mid-November) to ensure visitor safety and protect wildlife habitats.

For a successful safari, it is recommended to arrive at the boarding point at least 30 minutes before departure, wear comfortable clothing, and carry essentials like water, binoculars, and a camera. Following park rules and guidelines ensures a safe and enjoyable experience. The Dhikala Safari Zone offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the natural beauty and wildlife of Jim Corbett National Park, making it a must-visit destination for nature lovers.
