About the Bijrani Zone
The Bijrani range was once a hunting ground during the British era and is now a well-protected ecotourism zone. The entry gate for this zone is Aamdanda Gate, situated just a few kilometers from Ramnagar. Once inside, visitors are welcomed by lush greenery, river streams, and open meadows that are ideal for spotting wildlife. The zone is home to Royal Bengal Tigers, Asian Elephants, Deer, Leopards, Langurs, Sloth Bears, and an incredible variety of birds, making it a paradise for wildlife photographers and bird watchers.
Safari Experience
The Jeep Safari in Bijrani Zone is the most preferred way to explore this wild terrain. Each jeep carries up to six visitors along with a trained guide and driver. Safaris are conducted in two shifts – morning and afternoon – and must be booked in advance through the official Online Jim Corbett Booking portal. The safari route takes you through the heart of the forest, where you can witness the untamed beauty of nature and the thrill of spotting a tiger in the wild.
Accommodation and Facilities
For those wishing to stay overnight, the Bijrani Forest Rest House offers a serene and rustic stay amidst the jungle. Managed by the forest department, this accommodation provides basic amenities and a unique opportunity to experience the wilderness after sunset.
Best Time to Visit
The Bijrani Zone remains open from October 15 to June 30, as it remains closed during the monsoon season. The best time to visit is between November and May, when animal sightings are most frequent and the weather is pleasant.
